SBI Showcase Award
The Showcase Award identifies the SBI Program and its Director that is deserving of recognition for innovative development or management, or that through SBI efforts contributed to a true small business client success story. Any member may nominate a deserving program, and self-nominations are also allowed. More than one Showcase Award may be presented each year.

SBI Fellow Award
The Small Business Institute® recognizes members whose accomplishments are particularly noteworthy. In order to become an SBI Fellow, one must be nominated by an SBI officer or a current Fellow.
Nominee Criteria:
* Active participation in SBI for at least five years.
* SBI director for at least three years or more.
* Published articles/books on the topic of small business or entrepreneurship.
* Delivered outstanding presentations at annual meetings or workshops.
* Possesses significant national/international reputation associated with small
business/entrepreneurship.
* Brings significant public relations to the SBI program.
* Helped on or chaired national/regional committees.
* Not a current National Officer (including past president).
SBI Mentor Award
The Mentor Award identifies an SBI member who is deserving of recognition for outstanding contribution to SBI director or case supervisor training and development. Any SBI member is eligible to nominate another member. More than one Mentor may be selected in a year.

CSBC Certification
The SBI Certified Small Business Counselor (CSBC) certification is designed to raise the standards of its members as a whole, enhance performance of Small Business Institute® (SBI) directors and case supervisors, and recognize those who have reached a higher level of knowledge within the small business counseling field. The SBI CSBC certification has these main goals:
* To create a common body of knowledge and standards of performance for small business counselors;
* To enhance the actual and perceived professionalism of small business counselors;
* To offer members a self-directed and self-paced venue for taking an active role in their own careers and professional development; and
* To enhance the professionalism of SBI members.

Records are maintained by the Vice President of Quality Assurance. Candidates must maintain eligibility over four consecutive years to be selected. Recipients of certification are selected based upon a combination of consulting service, participation in SBI activities, and scholarship. All SBI members are eligible for CSBC. |
